Archaeologists Find New Section of Jerusalem's Ancient City Wall
Joel Kontinen
Israel’s Antiquities Authority finds large portions of the wall destroyed by the Babylonians more than 2,500 years ago. The Babylonians took the city captive and the time for Jews exile had happened just as it says in the Bible.

A “Lost” Street Built by Pontius Pilate Found In Jerusalem
Image courtesy of Shutterstock, fair use doctrine.

A street build by Pontius Pilate needed 10,000 tons of cement to build it. Archaeologists have now found a street 600 meters long (2,000-foot) street, that “would have connected the Siloam Pool — a place where pilgrims could stop to bathe and get fresh water — to the Temple Mount.”
Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority and Tel Aviv University dug under the current streets to come up with the street Pilate built. They also found They found dozens of coins, with the most recent dating back to A.D. 30/31, a time when historical records show that Pontius Pilate was prefect of Judea.
All archaeologists think that the street was built by Pilate.

Foxes on Temple Mount Has Some Pointing to Lamentations 5 Prophecy
Image courtesy of National Park Service, Public Domain.
Joel Kontinen
A bible prophesy in lamentation 5:18 comes to mind for some readers, listening to a YouTube session on the Foxes on Temple Mount, as it says “Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, with foxes walking about on it.”
Lamentations was written after Jerusalem was sacked by the Babylonians in BC 587. The final chapter of lamentations speaks about the restoration, as the temple would be rebuilt, with foxes playing on it.
Thus, for some Jews this speaks of the restoration on Jerusalem.

Holocaust Remembrance Day’s Outcasts

Yesterday was the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel, All traffic game to a standstill for 5 minutes.
However, the game that the nations have waged against Israel has no signs of letting up. Just recently, the New York Times argued that Jesus was a Palestinian man. And in 2012, The BBC’s sports website seems to be re-writing geography. It lists the names of the countries taking part in the London Olympic Games and their capitals. The BBC informs us that the capital of a country called Palestine is East Jerusalem. However, the capital of Israel was ominously missing.
The Guardian went one step further, claiming that the capital was Tel Aviv.
And a great anti-Semitist has claimed that some Israelis are playing mini-Mengele.

BBC: Israel Does Not Have a Capital
According to the BBC, this flag is not flowing in East Jerusalem. Image courtesy of Math Knight and Zachi Evenor.

The BBC’s sports website is re-writing geography. It lists the names of the countries taking part in the London Olympic Games and their capitals. The BBC informs us that the capital of a country called Palestine is East Jerusalem. However, the capital of Israel is ominously missing.
The BBC received so much feedback that it acknowledged that it might have made a mistake. Even in the new version Israel does not have a capital. It does mention that the seat of government is in Jerusalem and that the foreign embassies are in Tel Aviv.
This is not the first time the BBC has developed it own version of the geography and history of Israel.

New farce: Britain prohibits Israel from using a photo of the Wailing Wall in tourist brochures

Brits would not allow Israelis to use a picture of this wall in tourist brochures. Image courtesy of Wikipedia.
Joel Kontinen
The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has basically banned Israelis from using a photo of the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, in tourist brochures. ASA obviously assumes that tourists might think that the most famous wall in Jerusalem is a part of Israeli territory.
When it comes to dealings with Israel, the UK does not have a sterling reputation. For instance, last January BBC presented a programme that basically denied the Jewish roots of Jerusalem.
The newest farce comes a bit too late to be an April Fools’ hoax.

BBC: ”East Jerusalem is not a Jewish city”

Jerusalem. Image courtesy of Berthold Werner, Wikipedia.
Joel Kontinen
In BBC's documentary Panorama Jane Corbin takes a walk in Jerusalem and suggests that practically everything Israel does in East Jerusalem is illegal since in her view it is not a Jewish city.
History knows a very different kind of Jerusalem. The Israelites ruled the city over 3000 years ago and even in the 19th century during the Ottoman period, there were more Jews than Arabs in Jerusalem. In 1844, out of a population of 15, 510, the Jews numbered 7, 120. There were 5, 000 Muslims and 3, 390 Christians in the city. At the time of Israel’s War of Independence (1948), 100, 000 Jews, 40, 000 Arabs and 25, 000 Christians lived in Jerusalem.
In reality, East Jerusalem was an Arab city only from 1949 to 1967 after the Jordanians expelled the Jews from their homes. In addition, it might be good to remember that up to 1865 ”Jerusalem” consisted of what is now known as East Jerusalem. The other parts of the city were built later.
Panorama gives the impression that many Israelis are scoundrels who will do anything to keep East Jerusalem in Jewish hands. The programme makes a big issue of Palestinian sufferings.
Corbin does not seem to know about the ethnic cleansing of 1948, when the Jews of East Jerusalem were forced to leave the dwellings that had been theirs for decades if not centuries.
Panorama is obviously not interested in objective reporting. Incidentally, the British have had a pro-Arab bias almost since time immemorial. For instance, in the 1948 war they sided with the Arabs. Recently a British MP claimed that the Israelis are playing mini-Mengele.
