Strange three-lobed asteroid seems to have its own tiny moon

Space is wonderful. Ever hard of an asteroid that has its tiny moon? the asteroid is called Nysa  It is  75 kilometres across with a tiny moon just a kilometre across.

Astronomers have spotted one of the strangest-looking asteroids we have ever seen. The space rock, called 44 Nysa, was discovered in 1857, but it wasn’t until now that we had the observational capability to figure out its shape – and its shape is weird.

An E-type asteroid, which is a relatively rare type rich in a mineral called enstatite, 44 Nysa circles the sun in the main asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. It is the brightest E-type asteroid we know of and one of the largest, with an average diameter of about 75 kilometres, which makes it a tempting observational target.

Asteroid to miss Earth by a quarter of the length from us to the moon

An asteroid that missed the Earth by some 90, 000 kilometers was very real, It was not the object can was mentioned in the book of Revelation that was called bitterness as it caused the seas to become bitter.   

Asteroid 2026JH2 will zoom past Earth at a distance of only 90,000 kilometers  next week. It has enough mass to wipe out a city, but simulations suggest there is no chance of an impact for at least the next century.

An asteroid with the potential to ruin a city will pass Earth next week. 2026JH2, as it has been labelled by the astronomy community, is predicted to zoom by our planet at an estimated distance of 90,917 kilometers – only a quarter of the distance between us and the moon.

“In astronomical terms, it’s as close as you can get without hitting,” says Mark Norris at the University of Lancashire, UK.

Deflecting a deadly asteroid just got a lot less dangerous

Our first attempt at shifting the orbit of an asteroid has provided crucial insight into how we could safely deflect a space rock that was hurtling towards Earth.

Some space rocks can be nasty. According to evolution, the asteroids caused the demise of the dinosaurs. That event was probably related to Noah's flood that caused some dino's and many other animals to die.

If an the asteroid was heading for a deadly impact with Earth, could we nudge it off course safely without making the situation worse? Yes, thanks to a new system for calculating the perfect spot to smack a space craft into an incoming asteroid.

Steering away an asteroid bound for Earth is a high-stakes endeavour, and we have not had much practice. In 2023, NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) showed for the first time that we can divert a space rock by smashing a small proband e into the tiny asteroid Dimorphos, which orbits a larger asteroid called Didymos, and changing its orbit by 30 minutes.

Newly discovered bus-size asteroid will zoom close past Earth today — and will not return for exactly 100 years

A bus-sized asteroid zoomed past Earth yesterday.

A bus-size asteroid, first spotted just over a week age, will zoom past Earth today (Sept. 3). The space rock will not get this close to us again until Sept. 4, 2125 — almost 100 years to the day.

The asteroid, dubbed 2025 QV5, was first spotted on Aug. 24. It is approximately 35 feet (11 meters) across, or around the same width as a school bus is long, and is hurtling toward us at more than 13,900 mph (22,400 km/h), according to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Asteroid Watch.

The space rock will make a close approach to Earth on Wednesday, passing within 500,000 miles (805,000 kilometers) of our planet — or around twice as far away from us as the moon, according to JPL's Small-Body Database Lookup.

2025 QV5 has a roughly circular orbit around the sun, circling our home star every 359.4 days. During this time, it drifts between the orbits of Earth and Venus as it is subtly pulled from side to side between the two planets. As a result, it is unlikely to ever hit us. And even if it did, it is too small to be considered "potentially hazardous" and most of its material would likely burn up in the atmosphere.

Nevertheless, scientists are still keen to learn as much as they can about the space rock, and it has been listed as a target for NASA's Goldstone radar telescope in Barstow, California — which specializes in tracking and imaging near-Earth asteroids — over the coming days.

Rethink of fossils hints dinosaurs still thrived before asteroid hit

When according to evolution, did the dinosaurs die? In most cases, they say it was around 66 million years ago, but new research shows they did not die,

Dinosaurs likely weren’t declining before an asteroid wiped them all out; instead, there may just be limited fossils from that time period, according to a new study.

It has been hotly debated whether dinosaur populations were thriving or dwindling when a huge asteroid slammed into the planet about 66 million years ago. Specifically, a drop in the availability of dinosaur fossils from the years leading up to the asteroid has led some scientists to believe the giants were doomed regardless of the impact.

Christopher Dean at University College London and his team analysed a dataset of more than 8000 fossils from four types of dinosaurs that lived between 84 million and 66 million years ago in North America, including the famed Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops. They found many fossils of dinosaurs from 84 million to 75 million years ago – and then that number drops in the following 9 million years leading up to the Chicxulub impact. But there was more.

When calculating how much land is currently accessible to palaeontologists from the years leading up to the asteroid’s impact and how many excavation expeditions have been undertaken in those areas, Dean’s team found there simply aren’t many of the right rocks available for today’s scientists to study.

Because palaeontologists look for fossils in ancient layers of Earth’s crust that have since been exposed to the surface, it is like working on “a puzzle where half the pieces are missing,” says Dean.

When the team used ecological models to estimate the plausible number of dinosaurs in those areas — including information about the geology and geography at the time — their calculations suggested that overall dinosaur numbers stayed stable before the asteroid impact. There weren’t fewer dinosaurs at the time; we are just less likely to find them, says Dean: “It looks like our ability to detect dinosaurs is influencing the patterns that we see in the fossil records more than anything else.”

This adds to the growing body of research suggesting there is a bias in how many fossils palaeontologists can access from North America in the 9 million years leading up to the asteroid hit, according to Manabu Sakamoto from Reading University in the UK, who was not involved in the study. Yet, he says, this doesn’t change the bigger picture of dinosaurs being in decline before the asteroid hit.

Even if dinosaurs were still populous and dominant towards the end of the Cretaceous period, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of variation in their species. Sakamoto’s research suggests that, during the 175 million years dinosaurs roamed Earth, the rate at which new species of dinosaurs appeared was slowing down overall, leading to more dinosaur species going extinct than new ones evolving.

This long-term decline in dinosaur diversity still holds true, says Sakamoto, despite the new research suggesting a bias in the available fossils: “Those two things are not mutually exclusive of each other.”

According to the creation based  timeline, dinosaurs did not die off so suddenly but they have been around much later.

Earth had a mini-moon for two months


There may be more moon-born asteroids near Earth than we thought

What do we say about a mini moon for some two months that followed Earth for  about 2 months? Some scientist say that it appears to have originated from the moon.

This is just Darwinian storytelling.  

“The asteroid, called 2024 PT5, is about 10 metres wide. Spotted in August, it was later snared by Earth’s gravitational pull, becoming a second moon of our planet, referred to as a mini-moon. It was visible between September and November.”

Bacteria found in asteroid sample – but they're not from space

The unexpected discovery of microbial life in a piece of rock from an asteroid show how hard it is to avoid contaminating samples. It was brought back on a sample from the Ryugu asteroid.

So the bacteria was probably produced on Earth, which speaks of contamination. As only God can create living things.

A rock from the asteroid Ryugu that was brought back to Earth appears to be festooned with microbial life. But these microbes almost certainly came from Earth rather than outer space, say researchers. This contamination serves as a cautionary tale in the search for extraterrestrial life in future sample return missions, such as from NASA’s Perseverance rover on Mars.

In 2020, Japan’s Hayabusa 2 spacecraft returned to Earth with 5.4 grams of rock from the 4.5-billion-year-old asteroid Ryugu. After the sample capsule landed in Australia, it was transported to a custom-built facility in Sagamihara, Japan. There, the capsule was first opened inside a vacuum room, itself located within a clean room, before moving to a pressurised nitrogen-filled room for longer-term storage. From there, parts of the sample could be put inside nitrogen-filled containers and sent out for researchers to study.

One of these samples was sent to the UK to be studied by Matthew Genge at Imperial College London and his colleagues. Genge and his team initially scanned the sample using X-rays, which showed no evidence of bacteria.

The millions of years is not based on science.

'God of chaos' asteroid may be transformed by tremors and landslides during 2029 flyby of Earth, study finds

In 2029 an asteroid will fly paste Earth that might trigger tremors on the asteroid, not On Earth.

Will this be the asteroid (Wormwood) that was promised in the book of Revelation 8:10-11?

When the 'God of chaos' asteroid Apophis makes an ultraclose flyby of Earth in 2029, our planet's gravity may trigger tremors and landslides that totally change the asteroid's surface.

”Landslides and tremors may transform the asteroid Apophis during its 2029 brush with Earth, according to a new study.”

”Apophis is a 1,100-foot-long (340 meters), peanut-shaped asteroid. Although an impact with a space rock that size from earth annihilate our planet, it could easily destroy a city.”

IN 2029 it will fly as close as 32,000 kilometres or 20,000 miles from earth, maybe even crust into it.

4 large asteroids, including a skyscraper-size 'city killer,' will zoom past Earth in a 12-hour span today (Oct. 24)

Four reasonably large asteroids hurtleds past Earth yesterday, The ”potentially hazardous" space rocks, which are between 30 metres (100 feet) or 207 metres (580 feet) across.  They will all make their closest they were found within less than 12  hours ago.

Two of them were only discovered earlier this month. The first asteroid is  the  2015 HM1 which will hurtled past us at  5.5 kilometres or 3.4 miles from us, at its closest. The next asteroid will zoom after the first one.

The final two asteroids — 2002 V16 and 2024 TR6 — will zoom us by make the closest approaches  just four minutes of each other. 2002 NV16, is around 177 metres across, making it the largest of the four, will zoom us by reach a minimum distance of 2.8 million miles (4.5 million km from us) at around us. It will be quickly followed by the 46 metres steroid (150-foot-wide) 2024 TR6, which will come within 3.5 million miles (5.6 million km) of Earth.

Can we spot every incoming asteroid before they hit Earth?

News of the asteroid 2024 RW1 impacting near the Philippines may have come as a shock this week, but space agencies and astronomers around the world are keeping an eye out to protect us.

Can we spot the asteroids that come to Earth, just as the asteroid that according to evolutionists took off the dinosaurs many years ago, or the many that have reached Earth in the past or the one that is promised  in the book of Revelation?

“The surprise discovery of asteroid 2024 RW1, mere hours before it hit Earth harmlessly this week, may have you wondering whether we are at risk of larger space rocks coming out of nowhere and wreaking devastation. Thankfully, our ability to track asteroids is on the rise, even if we can’t catch them all.

“We believe we know more than 90 per cent of the asteroids that are about one kilometre in size, where one kilometre is considered, not a planet killer, but something that would destroy a whole region or a whole continent,” says Ian Carnelli.

2,000-foot-wide 'potentially hazardous' asteroid has just made its closest approach to Earth — and you can see it with a telescope

A "city-killer" asteroid has just made its closest approach to Earth.

The asteroid, named 2013 NK4, is around 610 metres or 2,000 feet wide, making it about twice the size of the "god of chaos" asteroid Apophis.

It will make a trip of 3.2 million kilometres or 2 million miles from Earth.

Car-size asteroid discovered 2 days ago flies 30 times closer to Earth than the moon

An asteroid that was discovered on Tuesday (April 9) made an extremely close, but harmless, pass by planet Earth on April 11. It was one of the space rocks that NASA did not know about.

“Asteroid 2024 GJ2 is roughly the size of a car,. Astronomers have calculated that the space rock would graze by Earth at a mere 19.3-thousand-kilometer or 12-thousand-mile) distance — that's just three percent the distance between the Earth and the moon. 2024 GJ2 measures between 2.5 and 5 meters or 8.2 and 16 fee), according to the European Space Agency (ESA).”

Asteroid sampled by NASA may once have been part of an ocean world.

Space is full of wonders, Bennu is an exceptional asteroid.  A sample from the asteroid Bennu, brought back to Earth by the OSIRIS-REx mission, contains hints that it was once part of a planetesimal. It may have once been part of a small, ocean-covered world with conditions favourable for life to emerge.

That’s according to the team behind NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission, which brought back a sample of the asteroid Bennu in September 2023.

An asteroid flies past Earth

A newly discovered asteroid the size of an airplane will have 'very close encounter' with Earth on Saturday — and you can watch it happen.

A space rock that is called asteroid 2024 BJ will come within 354 000 kilometres or 220,000 miles from earth, on the 27th, i.e. Saturday.  

The asteroid is 37 meters 121-foot-wide. It flies around at a distance that is closer to us than the average distance to the moon.

Scientists discover near-Earth asteroid hours before it exploded over Berlin

For only the eighth time in history, scientists detected an asteroid before it made its fiery appearance over Earth. The tiny fireball exploded near Berlin early on Jan. 21.

It was the he morning of January 21, “a tiny asteroid came hurtling through the sky and smashed into Earth's atmosphere near Berlin.”

Such sightings typically occur a few times a year, but this one is special. It was detected only 3 hours before  its impact.

“The asteroid, dubbed 2024 BXI, was first discovered by asteroid hunter Krisztián Sárneczky, an astronomer at the Piszkéstető Mountain Station, part of Konkoly Observatory in Hungary.

An asteroid just missed Earth

“A skyscraper-size asteroid was revealed in year-old telescope data.” 

This was due to a new algorithm that could detect the way  near-Earth objects are discovered.

The 180 meters or 600 feet wide asteroid , which now it named  2022 SF289 , flew cöose enough to Earth to crete havoc , 

It is three times the size of the one that blew out windows in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013 will zip by Earth at half the distance of the moon on Saturday  or March 25.  and some scientist say that a space rock destroyed the city of Sodam,

A Space rock just touched the Earth

A 60 meters or 200 foot wide asteroid sailed past our planet on July 13, traveling at an estimated 86,000 km/h or  53,000 mph, according to NASA. However, because the rock flew toward Earth from the direction of the sun, our star's glare blinded telescopes to the asteroid's approach until long after it had passed.

In 2013, a roughly 59-foot-long (18 m) asteroid followed a similar path through the sun's glare and went undetected before exploding in the sky over Chelyabinsk,Russia.

A    fireball could also have detonated over the ancient Middle Eastern city of Tall el-Hamman or Sodom around 3,600 years ago. It's possible that the explosion, which was roughly 1,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb, set the city instantly ablaze before levelling it with a powerful shockwave, killing all of its inhabitants  

That why the biblical Testament is always correct.

Mars moon Deimos isn’t a captured asteroid

Mars little moon Deimos is not a captured asteroid, as many evolutionists believe. 

Now scientist think that it is the same materiel as Mars, perhaps broken off in a long-ago collision. Evolutionist suppose that Earth's moon is thought to have formed from a similar collision billions of years ago.

A spack rock swill zip past the Earth on Saturday

An asteroid called 2023 DZ2 will zip past the Earth at half the distance the Earth is from the moon or about 173,000 kilometrers from Earth, The space rock that caused such havoc in Russia  was just 18 metres across . This pace rock is between  44 and 99 meters in diametre.

The asteroid is known as an Apollo-class asteroid  As according to evolution,, it hails from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, 

It is three times the size of the one that blew out windows in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2013 will zip by Earth at half the distance of the moon on Saturday  or March 25.

Three asteroids crossed the Earth's orbit

Three asteroids, including two potentially hazardous ones, crossed the Earth's orbit last week. 

However, they will pass us at a distance of 3.5 milliion miles or 2.2 million kilometres, so we should not be afraid, that is hazardous for us.  That will be ten times the distance betwen the Earth and the moon.
